Accessibility

The Regent Theatre is fully compliant with Ontario’s accessibility laws and standards.

  • The lobby, concession, washrooms and accessible seating terraces are fully wheelchair accessible.
  • Ample barrier-free space is located upon entry to the theatre in our accessible seating terrace.
  • Complimentary companion seating in the accessible seating terrace is offered to those requiring accompaniment for movies and live shows.* Some exceptions may apply in circumstances where the event is a rental.
  • Accessible seating on the accessible seating terraces is indicated on the seating map by a blue square. These tickets must be purchased in person or by phone.
  • Guide dogs and service animals are permitted on the accessible seating terrace. If it is not readily apparent that the animal is being used because of a person’s disability the person with the disability must be prepared to show a letter from a doctor or nurse confirming that it required for reasons relating to their disability.
  • Thursday afternoon films are offered with Open Captions whenever available.
  • Assistive hearing devices are available on request at the box office for all movies.
  • Ear plugs & booster seats are available at box office upon request.
  • The front doors are equipped with an automated door opener, and both our Concession area and Box Office are barrier-free.
  • A first aid kit is located behind the concession.

Customers with special requirements may wish to email in advance boxoffice@theregenttheatre.org to notify our staff of their needs.

For general admission events patrons are welcome to select or move to a seat they find most comfortable. Seating priority will always be given to those with demonstrable accessibility needs on the accessible seating terraces.
